I managed multiple barbershops across the Denver Metro area, including overseeing operations, assisting with franchise openings, and training new managers.
From your personal experience what's the best thing about being in talent acquisition?
It's hard to land on one specific area but I get to make direct impacts for everyone involved. Everyday is spent learning something new about the people and world around us.
Since you've been in TA, how have you seen it change?
Increased use of AI, moving away from degrees and pivoting to skills- based practices, remote hiring, candidate experience being prioritized, speed to hire.
How do you see AI impacting the future of talent acquisition?
AI has already had a major impact on talent acquisition, but one area I see evolving further is the use of AI tools to verify a candidate’s identity in real time during virtual interviews.
What advice would you give to job seekers today?
Craft strong, concise career stories that highlight your adaptability & understanding of the role. Follow up professionally without being excessive. Take initiative in developing your skills and continuous learning.
