Respondology is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our ad tech startup on the rise. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to make significant contributions at a growth-stage startup making a difference in the world.

We work with consumer brands, sports teams and leagues around the world to remove toxic comments, hateful attacks, protect their brand equity and investments in social media. This role is responsible for building, maintaining, and administering our core AWS infrastructure, automating our deployments, implementing our infrastructure as code and containerization efforts, all while ensuring our platforms availability and info security. You will contribute to our continued success and help pave the way towards technologies in machine learning and AI. Your work will be seen across major platforms and by well-known brands.

A Day in the Life

Implement and iterate on the features and functionality of our product.
Contribute to process improvements, including researching and introducing new tools.
Guide implementation of best practices for application, design and development.
Attend a stand-up meeting to provide updates, work through issues with colleagues and inform of any blockers that may disrupt your work.
Review outstanding tasks with the team to understand priorities.
Focus time during the day to sink your mind into your work.
Proactively monitor logs, performance metrics, and alerts
Provide Level of Effort (LOE) estimates for requirements.
Work with software engineers to setup new infrastructure.
Jump on a high priority server scaling request because one of our celebrity customers posted something newsworthy.

Here's what you need to get our attention:

Bachelor’s in computer science, Engineering or related degree - or equivalent work experience: If you have a four-year degree, that's great; we care more about your past experience and ability to do the job, so please apply even if you don't have a degree
Minimum 3 years experience as a Cloud Engineer / DevOps
Minimum 3 years in architecting and implementing solutions with RDS, ECC, ECS, EKS, EC2, CloudWatch, ElastiCache, ELB, Lambda, Route 53 and other AWS technologies.
Minimum 2 years experience working with IaC tools (Infrastructure as Code) such as Terraform.

Here's what will make us call you for sure:

Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (subnetting, routing, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)
AWS Professional Certifications
Experience with Redash
Experience with monitoring tooling (we use CloudWatch, DataDog and Zabbix)
Familiarity with the major social media platforms and their APIs
Configuration management (Ansible, SaltStack or Puppet)
Knowledge of Golang (GO)
Database administration (Postgres, MongoDB)
Data pipeline or ETL engineering
Experience writing technical documentation
Skilled with Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS or RHEL)
Has strong hands-on knowledge of the AWS ecosystem and stays up to date on new offerings.

Compensation DOE: $120,000-$140,000
